JONESBORO, Ark. – Authorities reported several felony drug arrests over the weekend in Jonesboro.
Between 9 AM and 9:16 AM April 19 at the 1900-block of West Matthews Avenue, the 2nd Judicial District Drug Task Force observed a woman pull into a parking lot in a vehicle owned by a man on probation and with a known drug history, the incident report says. The woman was walking back and forth in front of the apartment building. Police conducted a probation search and found 11.8 grams of suspected crystal meth along with a hypodermic needle.
Timothy A. Welch, 40, of Jonesboro, was arrested for possession of meth with purpose to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Between 1:25 PM and 3:39 PM on April 19 at 4200-block of Lochmoor Circle, a probation search was conducted leading to drugs and paraphernalia being found. Once again, agents with the 2nd Judicial District Drug Task Force were on the case, this time conducting a probation search of a man who was busted with a drug house in Sage Meadows. Police found meth, drug pipes, LSD, Xanax, weed, and other items of paraphernalia.
Reddi Parker, 43, of Jonesboro, was arrested for possession of meth with purpose to deliver, possession of a schedule I or II substance with purpose to deliver, possession of a schedule VI or V substance with purpose to deliver, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
An investigation into an assault that had already occurred led to two arrests on drug charges between 7 PM and 9 PM on April 19 at the 3000-block of Apache Drive. Jessica Thompkins, 40, of Lake City, and Temone Piggie, 47, of Jonesboro, were arrested for possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.
Police were on patrol shortly before 10 PM on April 19 in the area of West Washington when a traffic stop led them to make their next arrests. The report says police found a suspected stolen catalytic converter, meth, and paraphernalia. With the subject on probation, his residence was subject to search following the traffic stop. Authorities arrested Charles Gross, 44, Felicia Fleming, 38, Timothy Welch, 40 (again), and Trichia N. Sloann Dunn, 42. Gross faces a charge for the alleged theft of the catalytic converter while the others face drug charges.
The next drug arrest logged by JPD happened around 6 PM on April 21 near East Nettleton Avenue and South Caraway Road. Police were called over an impaired driver when a maroon pickup truck sat at the intersection without moving. Authorities arrived and woke the driver up before finding suspected crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia on his person. Gregory D. Scroggins, 49, was arrested for possession of meth or cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Authorities received a tip that drugs were being sold on the second floor of a motel at the 3000-block of Apache Drive. Around 7 PM on April 21, officers were investigating the reports. They ended up arresting James Brian Ferguson, 40, of Jonesboro, for possession of meth or cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
