Report: Suspect Stole and Shot Firearm at Victim in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, Ark. – Authorities investigated another shooting incident this week in Jonesboro, according to a police report.

Around 11:40 PM on March 12, police responded to the 600-block of E. Cherry Avenue. The report filed with the Jonesboro Police Department states that police responded to a domestic disturbance in progress. After investigating, authorities believed a suspect stole and shot a firearm toward another person.

No injuries are mentioned in the report, fortunately.

The incident involved an argument that escalated into violence between family members, the report says. Police noted a glass door was busted on the east side of the front door.

A 31-year old male suspect is listed in the report but no arrests were mentioned.

The stolen firearm is described as a silver and black Smith & Wesson 9mm. Police also seized a phone that was left at the scene.

The suspect could face felony charges including aggravated assault on a family or household member and theft of a firearm.
