JONESBORO, Ark. – Even after apprehending a juvenile suspect involved in a string of vehicle break-ins last week, police are still fielding reports connected to him.
One such incident happened late January 3 or early January 4 near the 200-block of Natchez Drive, but wasn’t reported until Friday. A pair of rose-gold Beats headphones were stolen out of a car. Police made contact with the father of the 15-year-old arrested last week for a string of vehicle break-ins and sure enough, the father said he had seen those headphones, admitting that his child did not own the pair. He collected the headphones and turned them on to put them in pairing mode. When he did, the victim’s name appeared as the owner.
Another incident happened between January 3 and January 5 at the 3400-block of Saddle Creek Cove. A male victim reported the theft of multiple knives, sunglasses, another pair of Beats headphones, cash, and more. Again, police linked the case to the same juvenile suspect.
As the weekend progressed, authorities took more reports of a similar nature. Between 10 PM on January 5 and 11 AM on January 6 near the 900-block of Locust Drive, a vehicle was entered and a wallet was stolen. During the same frame of time near the 2300-block of Redbud Drive, another victim’s vehicle was entered and wallet stolen.
Between 1 AM and 4 AM on January 6 at the 900-block of Locust Drive, another vehicle was entered and had items stolen from within.
Authorities believe the vehicle break-ins on Locust and Redbud Drive to be connected. If you know who the suspect or suspects are, contact JPD here.
