Two Women Accused of Felony Shoplifting at Jonesboro Walmart

JONESBORO, Ark. – Two women are facing the more-serious felony charge of shoplifting after an incident where they are alleged to have tried to take over $2,000 worth of merchandise from Walmart on Parker Road in Jonesboro.

The incident occurred around 1 p.m. on November 17. Police responded in reference to a shoplifter. According to the report, two female suspects filled their carts with 178 items and then left without paying. Allegedly, $2,003.43 worth of goods were stolen.

Lataja Lashay Jones, 20, and Mauriceon Monique Jones, 19, both of Jonesboro, were arrested for felony shoplifting, amounting to more than $1,000 but less than $5,000. They spent the weekend in jail before being released on November 20.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
