JONESBORO, Ark. — A vehicle was reported stolen from a car dealership this week in Jonesboro, according to local police.

Authorities were dispatched to Williamson Auto Sales, 3323 E. Nettleton Avenue, at 10:15 a.m. on August 2 to investigate the theft of a black 2017 Hyundai Elantra. The vehicle, which belonged to Car Choice, was on the lot being serviced when it was stolen, the police report says.

The theft reportedly occurred sometime between 3 p.m. on July 31 and 7 a.m. on August 2. The suspect or suspects were able to start the vehicle and drive it off the lot, according to the police report. The keys were located inside the business, and the vehicle did not require a key fob to operate.

Intersection cameras were checked by authorities, but no leads were identified. Management at Williamson Auto Sales is reviewing footage from their own cameras to see if the incident was captured.

Despite these efforts, the case was placed into inactive status on August 3 due to the lack of leads.

The Jonesboro Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in the investigation. Anyone with information that could lead to the recovery of the vehicle or the identification of the suspects is urged to contact JPD.

This incident follows another theft reported earlier this week at a Jonesboro car dealership, where a customer’s vehicle was stripped of parts and left on blocks.
