Armed Home Burglary in Jonesboro Prompts Investigation; Suspects at Large

JONESBORO, Ark. – A frightening home invasion has shaken residents in Jonesboro this week as two armed suspects threatened a pair of victims, a police report said.

The incident occurred in the early hours between 2:20 a.m. and 2:35 a.m. at a residence in the 300-block of Roseclair Street. According to the report, a man and a woman were in the home when two unidentified individuals forcefully entered, kicking in a door and brandishing handguns.

Many details of the report remain obscured, leaving the motive unclear. Fortunately, it does not appear that any injuries were sustained during the encounter. The visible portions of the report do not indicate any items stolen from the residence.

Under Arkansas law, aggravated residential burglary is considered a Class Y felony, the most severe non-capital charge a defendant can face. A conviction can lead to a prison sentence ranging from ten to forty years.
