Robbery at Jonesboro Chinese Restaurant Involved Gun Threat, According to Police Report

JONESBORO, Ark. — The weekend robbery at a Jonesboro Chinese restaurant involved a suspect threatening a victim at gunpoint, according to a police report released on Monday.

The previously reported occurred around 3:40 p.m. Sunday at the Hong Kong Restaurant, located at 3228 S. Caraway Road. The suspect, described as a black male, entered the restaurant and held a female employee hostage, the report detailed. He allegedly had his arm wrapped around the victim and a gun pointed at her head.

According to the police report, the suspect stole $700 during the robbery. Authorities were alerted to the crime once the suspect had left the premises.

The suspect could face serious charges, including aggravated robbery and kidnapping, both classified as Class Y felonies in Arkansas. A conviction for a Class Y felony carries a potential prison term of ten to 40 years or even life imprisonment.
