
JONESBORO, Ark. – The Jonesboro Police Department received a report of a significant bank fraud incident last week, involving a substantial theft.
The report was filed at approximately 12:40 PM on June 30 at the police station. According to the report, an unidentified individual accessed the bank account of a Paragould resident on June 21 and fraudulently withdrew a staggering amount of $72,764.34. The suspect’s identity remains unknown and unidentifiable at this time, as indicated in the report.
Under Arkansas law, theft of property exceeding $25,000 is classified as a Class B Felony. If convicted, the offender could face a prison sentence ranging from five to 20 years, along with a fine of up to $15,000. Additionally, the guilty party would be required to repay the stolen funds.
Law enforcement is urging anyone with information regarding this case to come forward and contact the police.
