
Arkansas State Police made a significant drug seizure during a routine traffic stop on Monday, June 12, 2023.
Authorities confiscated approximately 146 pounds (66 kilograms) of cocaine during the stop on Interstate 40. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is over $6.5 million.
According to ASP Col. Mike Hagar, this seizure sends a clear message to those considering transporting illegal drugs on Arkansas interstates.
Following the traffic stop, two suspects were taken into custody. They will face charges related to the possession and transportation of the seized cocaine. The stop occurred around 8:20 p.m. on I-40 near Lonoke when Troopers intercepted a truck carrying a track hoe. A subsequent search led to the discovery and seizure of the 146-pound cocaine haul.
