JONESBORO, Ark. – The Criminal Investigation Division of JPD is looking into a report of an attempted aggravated assault as described by the victim Sunday in Jonesboro.
It began shortly before 4 PM at Sonic, 4405 E. Johnson Avenue in Jonesboro. The report says a woman, 27, told police she was hit by a vehicle driven by a young black male. The woman’s SUV sustained damage to the driver’s door. The suspect vehicle was described as a gold 2011 Chevy Cruze.
The report then alleges that after the collision, the suspect attempted to run over the driver to get away.
The vehicle’s owner and insurance details were listed in the report, so the alleged attempt to get away didn’t work. The report listed the suspect as a 16 year-old male.
No arrests were listed in the report but detectives were on the case Monday, investigating the incident as a possible felony aggravated assault.
