JONESBORO, Ark. – A shooting incident erupted early Wednesday in Jonesboro and police are still piecing together the details of what happened.

It happened around 3:53 AM on April 5 at the 3600-Hargis, based on what police know so far, Sally Smith with JPD told NEA Report. Police learned about it after the victim showed up to a local hospital. The report says he suffered a gunshot to the abdomen and left arm.

The victim told police he and a friend were driving by a location on Hargis when he was shot. The report also mentions that a suspected drug deal may have been involved, meaning it may not have been a random incident.

The incident report itself says at least two suspects fired rounds at each other and the victim was struck. Authorities believe the incident became a shootout before one person was injured.

Officers responded and located shell casings.

There is a suspect in the case but no arrests have been made as of 5 PM Thursday.

If you have any information which might help police piece together what happened, contact JPD.
