Authorities received reports of multiple incidents involving gunfire over the weekend in Jonesboro.
A suspect reportedly shot a victim’s vehicle with a pistol Friday night. It happened at about 10 PM at the 2500-block of East Johnson, at an apartment unit address. Police responded to a shots heard call and found a 2005 gold Nissan Altima shot six times.
Another report taken by police details an incident reported between Friday night and Saturday morning at Big Lots, 1907 Woodsprings Road. Police took the report Saturday morning. Suspects broke the glass front door by shooting it out with a BB gun, the report says. It wasn’t clear if anything was stolen in the attempted break-in.
A serious incident was reported Sunday afternoon at the 1800-block of Cedar Heights Drive. A person showed up at an emergency room with a gunshot wound, prompting the police response (initially to the hospital to investigate). The report says a suspect shot a 15-year old male victim and then fled on foot. The gun shot wound was in the middle of the victim’s back on the right side with the exit wound on the left front abdomen. When police spoke to the victim briefly before he was flown to Memphis, he said he was robbed and shot at Cedar Heights by a black male in all black with a fade-type haircut. Much of the report was redacted due to the active investigation. A juvenile suspect, 17, was arrested.
Another shooting incident was reported Sunday night after 7 PM. The location was masked by police in the report. A suspect shot twice at her live in boyfriend, the report says. Janitta Shammeca Wilbourn, 29, of Jonesboro, was arrested for aggravated assault on a family or household member. No injuries were reported.
