A Tuesday morning traffic accident was fatal for a 62-year-old man in Jonesboro
Emergency crews, including police, fire and EMS, responded to a five vehicle accident around 7:30 AM Tuesday at the intersection of Kathleen and Prospect Road in Jonesboro.
Police say a semi-truck and trailer traveling north on Kathleen failed to yield the stop sign and continued into the intersection. A black Chevrolet Silverado traveling west on Prospect was struck by the semi in the intersection. The Silverado was pushed into three other vehicles. The driver of the Silverado, Joseph Vesely Jr., 62, died on scene. The next of kin were notified shortly after the accident, JPD said in a release posted to social media.
