Man arrested in March 23 Chestnut Street shooting

A shooting sent one person to the hospital Wednesday, March 23, in Jonesboro.

Late Thursday, March 31, a suspect was announced to be in custody.

Around 4 PM Wednesday, officers were dispatched to the 900-block of Chestnut. Police arrived to find a male victim with an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to an area hospital.

Authorities did not immediately release his name or condition.

Today, police announced an arrest of a Jonesboro man connected to the shooting. Officers with the Jonesboro Police Street Crimes Unit and the Fugitive Task Force located and arrested Tevion Rogers, 21, on Thursday afternoon. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop on Caraway Road.

Rogers was transported to the Craighead County Detention Center to await his probable cause hearing, JPD said in a release.
