Over 87-percent of COVID patients at NEA Baptist are unvaccinated

Along with most of the state, NEA has seen an increase in COVID positive patients over the past few weeks, health care providers report.

On Monday, NEA Baptist announced they would begin releasing weekly updates on COVID cases in their health system.

June 16-25: 1,030 tests performed with a 6% positivity rate.

July 16-25: 1,867 tests performed with a 17.9% positivity rate.

At this time, the majority of NEA Baptist’s tests are being performed in their Urgent Care locations throughout northeast Arkansas. A release said all have the ability to perform rapid tests on a walk-in basis at provider discretion.

Per hospital policy, every patient is tested for COVID upon admission.

As of Monday, July 26 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital, there was a total of 32 positive patients with 15 of those being in Intensive Care and 13 are being treated with vents or bipaps.

As of 8:00 a.m. Monday, 87.5% of NEA Baptist inpatients are unvaccinated and three are partially vaccinated.
