Two women report assault involving gun Monday in Jonesboro; Plus other reports released Tuesday

JONESBORO, Ark. – Two women reported being the victim of a scary ordeal Monday evening in Jonesboro

It was reported after 6 PM at the 3500-block of Viking Street. The two women, both around the age of 30, said they were approached by two suspects. The first pulled out a handgun and pointed at both victims while the second suspect struck one of the women.

Both victims said they did not know the suspects, personally – but knew the street name of the first suspect. It was not known why the assault occurred.

The Criminal Investigation Division is investigating.


Other significant reports released Tuesday

A case of domestic violence was reported Monday evening around 5:53 at the 2600-block of Glenn Plaza. A male suspect reportedly attacked his female sibling, leaving a knot on her forehead, a bite mark on the left-hand ring finger, and a scratched ear, all visible to the responding officer. The case was being investigated as possible felony battery and terroristic threatening but no arrests were listed as of this time.

A suspect was alleged to have attempted to run over a victim Monday after 6 PM at the intersection of Cottonbelt and Walnut in Jonesboro.

Someone stole over $1,000 in tools from a vehicle at the 700-block of East Parker Road, a report Monday said.
