Perrin appointed to Supreme Court committee

JONESBORO, Ark. – A major honor was announced Monday for the Jonesboro mayor.

Jonesboro Mayor Harold Perrin has been appointed to the Arkansas Supreme Court’s Security and Emergency Preparedness Committee.

The mayor was informed by Chief Justice John Dan Kemp by letter of the significant appointment, which seats Perrin on the 16-member panel responsible for helping local agencies and governments develop plans for circuit and district courts around the state.

The committee is charges with courtroom security around the state and determining which courts most need and should receive grant funding for that purpose.

“It is an unexpected honor,” Perrin said of the appointment. “It’s always important for Jonesboro to be included in anything that involves the entire state, so I think this can only be a positive for our city.”

Perrin’s term will last until Sept. 30, 2022.
