Shots fired Sunday night at Cedar Heights

JONESBORO, Ark. – Once again, the Jonesboro Police Department is responding to a shots fired call at the Cedar Heights Apartments in Jonesboro.

This time, the call came in sometime after 8:50 PM at the 300-block of Cedar Heights Cove. The 911 call referenced shots fired but did not reference a victim. So far, officers at the scene have not located a gunshot victim.

However, the JPD desk sergeant told NEA Report officers appeared to have located some shell casings.

Officers also had one person in custody at the scene, the desk sergeant said. We are not yet certain if this suspect is connected to the shooting or if they may have been apprehended for some other reason as officers responded to the scene.

  1. We are seriously considering having some sort of firearm at home for protection. We really don’t see where JPD is able to prevent people being attacked in their homes or in public any more. Probably a change of administration would help as long as it was the right change; somebody serious about stopping crime.
