RAVENDEN, Ark. – An operation is underway in Lawrence County involving the recovery of evidence in a murder on Saturday in Craighead County
The search is happening near Ravenden on and around the Highway 63 Spring River Bridge. Craighead County Sheriff Marty Boyd told NEA Report his dive team was searching part of the Spring River at Ravenden for evidence involving the homicide from Saturday.
No word on what that evidence might be.
Lawrence County Sheriff Jeff Yates confirmed the evidence search as well.
Marco Deshaun Clark, 35, is suspected for the murder of Melinda Colburn, 35, in Dixie (a small Craighead community) on Saturday. Clark is being held without bond on a capital murder charge.
In his rants posted on Facebook following the murder, Clark confessed to it, saying the victim deserved it and that he would kill again. In an interview with The Jonesboro Sun, Deputy Prosecutor Grant Deprow said the video confession would be useful during Clark’s prosecution.
He could face the death penalty.
