Shawnie Carrier joins Paragould’s Jetton General Contracting (JGC)

PARAGOULD, Ark. – An area business superstar is joining the team of Jetton General Contracting (JGC) in Paragould.

Shawnie Carrier announced on Wednesday she was joining the JGC team, bringing with her experience from business development, higher education, and government.

Her most recent position was as the O’Reilly Hospitality Management (OHM) project as the Business Development Sales Manager for Embassy Suites Red Wolf Convention Center at Arkansas State University.

At Arkansas State University, Carrier served as both Executive Director of the Delta Center for Economic Development (DCED) and as Chief of Staff to the Office of the Chancellor. In these capacities, she also served as the project lead to identify and recruit OHM who is currently building and will manage The Red Wolf Convention Center on the campus of Arkansas State University.

Carrier hopes to bring her unique insight into community and economic development through her leadership of the DCED. She founded and fostered programs to encourage innovation, advance educational and leadership opportunities for community and workforce professionals, and assisted in the development of regional strategic planning, a press release said.

Carrier’s economic experience include serving as President and CEO of the Arkadelphia (AR) Regional Economic Development Alliance and Area Chamber of Commerce. She is a graduate of the Institute for Organization Management through the U.S. Chamber of Commerce; the IEDC Economic Development Institute (University of Oklahoma); the Harvard Kennedy School; and Leadership Arkansas.
