
JONESBORO, Ark. – Recent acts by vandals has caused a local bank intense grief in the form of approximately $50,000 in vandalism damage.
Specifically, someone has been shooting out the windows of the bank.
Crimestopper’s of Jonesboro is offering a $1000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for several acts of vandalism in downtown Jonesboro. The Iberia Bank branch at the corner of Washington Avenue and South Main Street is where approximately $50,000 in damage has been done in recent weeks.
Several windows at the bank have been damaged by someone shooting a bb gun or ball bearings at the windows. Now, Crimestopper’s of Jonesboro is offering the $1000 reward to encourage someone to come forward with the information needed to bring this case to a close.
“With the addition of this $1000 reward, we believe someone will come forward to help give JPD the information needed to close this case,” Sgt. Lyle Waterworth, Jonesboro Police Department
At least eight incidents have been reported to police of a similar nature dating back to October 9, 2018.
- On Dec. 6, two large windows were shattered. A BB/pellet gun hole was found
- On Dec. 1, a window on the west side of the building was found shot and shattered. A small hole was observed.
- On Nov. 27, one of the glass window panes to the business was shattered
Other dates that vandalism was found to have occurred included October 15, October 12, and October 9.
