JONESBORO, Ark. – Police need the public’s help to locate a suspect after an 86-year-old woman reported her debit card was stolen from her room at Jonesboro Healthcare Center.
The woman reported the crime on September 19. She said an unknown subject entered her room and stole her wallet.
She first had contacted the staff to let them know the wallet as missing but they couldn’t find it, the incident report says. Then, she contacted the bank to cancel her debit card. That’s when she learned the card had been used nine times since it was taken. She realized it wasn’t merely missing. It was stolen.
Detective Bill Brown is working the case, which is a felony investigation (theft of property for credit/debit cards is a more serious crime. The suspect also faces a fraudulent use of a credit card charge, which is a misdemeanor). On Nov. 5, media outlets were notified with a Crimestoppers request. Brown pulled a photo, from what appears to be Walmart, showing a suspect leaving after having used the debit card stolen from the elderly victim.

If you know who this woman is, please contact JPD at 870-935-6710 and ask for Detective Brown. If you want to report this incident anonymously, call Crimestoppers at 870-935-STOP (7867). It could mean cash for your tip.
