Godsey’s Grill downtown to close on Wednesday

JONESBORO, Ark. – The downtown Jonesboro landscape will change slightly this week as Godsey’s Grill Downtown is set to close.

A spokesperson for the parent company confirmed the news to NEA Report on Monday. Angie Hemphill, administrative assistant for Junior Fowler Investments and Godsey’s, told a reporter Monday of the closure.

“The downtown location is closing on Wednesday,” Hemphill said. “No one is losing a job. We’re inviting everyone to join us at our hilltop location.

No specific reason was given for the closing. Wednesday will be the last day diners can enjoy the downtown location.

Management plans to focus on building business for the Godsey’s location at 3800 East Johnson Avenue in Jonesboro – commonly referred to as the hilltop location.

“Were inviting everyone to join us at our hilltop location,” Hemphill said. “Our menu, our drinks, they can get everything they would have had at the downtown location – just at the hilltop location.”
