Jonesboro Police Upgrade Suspicious Death to Homicide

Officers arriving on the scene located a truck that was completely destroyed by fire.

JONESBORO, Ark. – On May 2nd around 9:30 am officers of the Jonesboro Police Department were sent to the area close to Trinity Railcar in reference to a suspicious vehicle.  Officers arriving on the scene located a truck that was completely destroyed by fire. Upon investigation, it was found that a person was in the vehicle during the fire.

The state medical examiner’s office has identified the victim as 59 year old Bono resident Jimmy Don Doyle, The M.E. also determined that Doyle was deceased prior to the fire and had suffered at least one gunshot wound. Investigators with the Jonesboro Police Department and the Jonesboro Fire Department are continuing to follow up on this investigation and urge anyone who may have information on the incident to please call the Jonesboro Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at 870-935-6710 or Crimestoppers at 870-935-STOP.
