WARREN, Ark. — A reward of up to $2,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for two homicides in Warren, according to a Sept. 15 release from Arkansas State Police.
The city of Warren and the Warren Police Department announced the reward in the deaths of Billy Wayne Smith and Ty Calbert, both of Warren. State police said investigators do not believe the cases are connected.
Warren police requested that the state police Criminal Investigation Division investigate both homicides.
In the first case, officers received a 911 call about 12:45 a.m. Aug. 5 reporting someone lying on the ground outside an apartment on Halligan Street. Responding officers found Smith, 53, with a gunshot wound. The Bradley County coroner pronounced him dead at the scene, according to the release.
In the second case, officers responded to a shooting call about 3 a.m. Aug. 30 at a home on Abernathy Street. They found Calbert, 35, with an apparent gunshot wound. Despite lifesaving efforts by medical personnel, he was pronounced dead at the scene, state police said.
Both investigations remain ongoing.
Anyone with information about either homicide is urged to contact state police CID Company B through Troop F dispatch at 870-226-3713. Tips may be provided anonymously.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
