JONESBORO, Ark. – Construction work to improve State Highway 49 (Johnson Ave) in Jonesboro will require alternating lane closures beginning this week, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT) officials.
Beginning Tuesday, December 5, crews will be performing milling and asphalt work that will alternately close a single lane of traffic on State Highway 49 between the intersection of Highway 49 (Red Wolf Blvd.) and Highway 91 (Johnson Avenue) and Paragould Drive.
Lane closures will occur weekdays and Saturdays from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. until the project is complete, which is estimated to be three weeks, weather permitting. Traffic will be controlled by signage, flaggers and traffic cones.
Drivers should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ARDOT.gov.
