TRUMANN, Ark. — A Trumann man has been returned to Arkansas from Tennessee to face allegations of first-degree murder, abuse of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence.
Rudy A. Ray, 56, waived extradition, according to Trumann Police Chief Doug Thomas. Trumann police officers took custody of Ray in Franklin, Tennessee, on Friday, Aug. 28, and transported him back to Arkansas.
Ray is scheduled to appear for a bond hearing Monday, Aug. 31, in Poinsett County Circuit Court in Harrisburg.
At approximately 8:15 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, the Trumann Police Department SWAT Team and Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team jointly served the warrant at 401 N. Pine Ave. Investigators located the suspected human remains while searching the property.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
