
IZARD COUNTY, Ark. – An armed robbery on Wednesday, Oct. 25, at a general store in Izard County was the act of a juvenile delinquent, a press release from Chief Deputy Earnie Blackley of Izard County Sheriff’s Department said.
On October 25, a woman reported that a male subject came into the Days General Store wearing a brown jacket, a camo scarf over his mouth and nose, brandishing a knife and demanding money and her phone. The woman, working at the time, stated that she first thought it was a joke but quickly realized that it wasn’t. She gave him all the money in the register and her phone. The suspect then asked her to come from behind the counter and stand half way to the front door. She told police that the suspect ran out the door and sped off in a gold colored Dodge Neon with no license plate. Deputy Toby Smith located the vehicle on Pine Tree Lane. The subject a juvenile was positively identified as being the one that robbed the store. Subject was charged with aggravated robbery and theft of property.
On October 25, Daniel Leo Pierce age 35 of Cherokee Village was arrested by Deputy DJ Tiernan for failure to pay fines. Pierce is incarcerated in the Izard County Detention Center in lieu of a $1,917.55 cash bond. Pierce is scheduled to appear in Izard County District Court on November 30.
On October 25, Christopher Neil Staggs age 34 of Sherwood was arrested by Deputy DJ Teirnan for possession of firearm by certain persons and theft of property. Staggs is incarcerated in the Izard County Detention Center in lieu of a $5000 bond. Staggs is scheduled to appear in Izard County Circuit Court on November 22.
On October 25, Craig Gallup age 41 of Horseshoe Bend was arrested by Deputy Mike Smith for failure to appear. Gallup is incarcerated in the Izard County Detention Center with no bond at this time. Gallup is scheduled to appear in Izard County Circuit Court on November 22.
On October 21, Machelle Lynn Rush age 44 was arrested by Deputy Richard Crowe for four counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of criminal trespass and theft of property. Rush is incarcerated in the Izard County Detention Center in lieu of a $6,560 bond. Rush is scheduled to appear in Izard County District Court on November 2.
On October 24, Tanya Lynette Turner was arrested by Deputy DJ Tiernan for possession of a controlled substance. Turner was given an OR bond and is scheduled to appear in Izard County District Court on November 30.
On October 24, Blandon Dylan Elkins age 41 of Melbourne was arrested by Deputy DJ Tiernan for drinking in public, shoplifting and criminal trespassing. Elkins is incarcerated in the Izard County Detention Center in lieu of a $960 bond. Elkins is scheduled to appear in Izard County District Court in Melbourne on November 30.
On October 24, Tristen Jay Lawrence age 19 of Melbourne was arrested by Deputy Richard Crowe for possession of a controlled substance schedule l ll meth, cocaine. a class D felony. Lawrence is incarcerated in the Izard County Detention in lieu of a $2500 cash bond. Lawrence is scheduled to appear in Izard County Circuit court.
On October 26, Marvin Richard Martin age 43 of Melbourne was arrested by Deputy Steve Davidson for possession of Drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. Martin was incarcerated in the Izard County Detention Center and bonded on a $2,370 cash bond. Martin is scheduled to appear in Izard County District Court on November 30.
