WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. – The Cavenaugh Thumperthon event was such a success over the weekend, plans were announced to make two big donations to two different animal rescue groups as a result.
Cavenaugh Thumperthon is an annual race in honor of Don Cavenaugh, an avid runner and animal lover, and his long time furry running partner – Thumper Cavenaugh. At 9 a.m. Saturday morning, sets of legs both two and four took off in Walnut Ridge to benefit both the Northeast Arkansas Humane Society and the JumpStart Animal Shelter in Walnut Ridge.
The flat track and perfect weather made for a great family morning, as the featured photo above, taken by Morgan Taylor Horne, shows. The featured photo shows Jenny Powers taking a set of wheels along for the ride.
The success of the event meant both the Jumpstart group and NEAHS are receiving $5,000 donations – each!
“From the Cavenugh Family, we want to give y’all a big THANK YOU!!!,” wrote Fran Wells Cavenaugh on Facebook.
