
JONESBORO, Ark. – Officers reported a two-vehicle roll over accident Sunday at the intersection of East Johnson Avenue and Marion Berry Parkway in Jonesboro.
JPD Officer Dustin Smith reported at 12:21 p.m. on Sunday, August 6, 2017, JPD, JFD and ASU PD responded to a two vehicle roll over accident at the intersection of E. Johnson Ave. and Marion Berry. Witnesses on scene advised that a silver Jeep was traveling east on E. Johnson Ave and ran the red light striking a silver Chevy Passenger car that was attempting to turn south onto Marion Berry.
Witnesses on scene advised the Jeep was lying in the driver’s side with the driver trapped inside. A group of bystanders flipped the Jeep back upright prior to first responder’s arrival.
The driver and passenger of the Chevy passenger car were taken by ambulance with unknown injuries, Smith said. The driver of the Jeep was treated at the scene by EMS and had minor injuries.
The driver of the Jeep was cited for running a red light. Both vehicles had airbag deployment and were towed from the scene. The Jeep clipped the traffic light pole causing minor cosmetic damage.
