JONESBORO, Ark. – An armed robbery was reported at the FairBridge Inn & Suites this week.

At about 8:25 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, JPD Officer Nathanial Cole reported being dispatched to the hotel, 3006 South Caraway Road, to room 165 where a theft had already occurred. He made contact with the alleged victim who was staying in Jonesboro after a trip from Houston, she claimed, because of family in town. She added she actually lived in Trumann.

The 21-year-old woman said she had went to her room after smoking marijuana in the parking lot with her 22-year-old male friend. Then, an unknown black male wearing jeans, a t-shirt and a red bandana on his neck halted the door from closing and rushed in. He appeared to be “high,” she said, and pointed a gun in the face of the male friend. He demanded “ice and money” and threatened to “shoot him in the face” the report said. She claimed she didn’t know what he was talking about. She gave him about $320 before leaving the scene.

The handgun was small and black with a green stripe going linear down the side of the slide, the description said.

The officer noted neither victim called the police to report the incident. A staff member made the call to authorities after the woman attempted to switch rooms and told them what happened.

Detectives are investigating.
