JONESBORO, Ark. – A woman lost her purse in Walmart but when loss prevention found it and searched for her ID, they found illegal drugs and paraphernalia.

At 8:24 p.m. Monday evening at Walmart on Parker Road in Jonesboro, JPD Officer Scott West made contact with loss prevention agents who said Christina Marie Ward (Vavak) 43, of Hoxie, had left her purse in the store. Inside of the purse, the officer found her driver’s license, cigarettes, a suspected meth pipe and several medications. The woman was located in the parking lot and the reporting officer said she claimed the purse as hers. When the officer asked her to tell him what was inside, she became very nervous and began stammering, he said.

She then opened the purse and began going through it. When the officer pointed out the meth pipe, she became upset, the report says, and claimed her friends who had brought her to Walmart put the pipe and pills in her purse. The pills were identified as lisdexamfetamine and Gabapentin, the former of which is a schedule II controlled substance. The suspect claimed the Gabapentin was hers but she didn’t have the bottle any longer.

She was arrested and charged with felony possession of a schedule II substance and felony possession of drug paraphernalia. She was taken to Craighead County Detention Center.
