Kids to Parks kickoff event is May 20

JONESBORO, Ark. – The City of Jonesboro will host a new summer event, “Kids to Parks Day,” 11 a.m.-2 p.m. May 20 at University Heights Lions Club Park.

“Kids to Parks Day” is a national celebration designed to encourage children of all ages to get out and stay active throughout the summer. It will include free food and drinks, entertainment provided by community organizations, first-responder vehicles that the kids can get their hands on, and puppies to play with.

“The goal is to get kids moving when school is out, and we have 22 parks in Jonesboro where they can have a good time,” Mayor Harold Perrin said. “This is our first ‘Kids to Parks Day,’ and we hope everyone will come out and make it a fun time.”

Andy’s Frozen Custard will provide free treats, and EAB has the music. If you or your organization is interested in being involved, please contact the City of Jonesboro Communications Department at cojmedia@jonesboro.org.
