U.S. 63 partially reopened

HOXIE, Ark. – U.S. 63 will be partially reopened between Hoxie and Portia on Friday morning, the AHTD has reported.

Lawrence County crews were opening the inside lanes, one in each direction, around 9 a.m. Friday morning on U.S. 63 between Hoxie and Portia, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department tweeted. Walnut Ridge Police Chief Chris Kirksey reported expecting to see traffic flowing in both directions by 9:45 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The road had been closed due to tremendous flooding earlier in the week.
