
MELBOURNE, Ark. – Authorities say a man decided to get high before coming to court and forgot to leave the paraphernalia at home.
A Black Rock man appeared in Izard County Circuit Court on Wednesday, Feb. 1, and according to Sgt. Gabe Sanders, the man smelled heavily of marijuana. When confronted by Sgt. Gabe Sanders, Corey Austin Mayes, 25 (pictured above) admitted that he had earlier smoked marijuana and a smoking device was discovered in his pocket. Mayes was arrested on the spot and taken to the Izard County Detention Facility where he remained until the following day when he appeared before Judge David E. Miller and was given a March 2 court date.
In another court incident, Latisha Darlene Hendree, 53 of Melbourne is accused of taking a wallet from a court clerk while in the office to pay fines. Hendree is charged with theft of property and was arrested February 4 after turning herself into authorities. Hendee posted a cash bond of $500 the day of her arrest, was released from the Izard County Detention Facility and given a March 2 court date.
A Horseshoe Bend man, Matthew Taylor Runnels, 23, was arrested February 5 on charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct. Runnels was released later that day after posting a cash bond of $440 and given a March 7 Horseshoe Bend court date. Deputy R.C. Lenex was the arresting officer.
Jimmy Ray Miller, age 61 of Ravenden was arrested Sunday as he attempted to visit an inmate in the Izard County Detention Facility. It was determined that Miller had an outstanding Sharp County warrant. Miller posted a $1,098 bond and was released. Deputy Jayden Whitfield was the arresting officer.
David Alexander Dziabula, age 36 of Mountain Home was arrested February 5 on the charge of public intoxication. Dziabula remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $220 bond and has a court date of March 2. Deputy Steve Davidson was the arresting officer.
Jodie Nicholl Sandoval, 20 of Mount Pleasant was arrested February 6 on a Baxter County warrant and is in the Izard County Detention Facility awaiting pickup by Baxter authorities.
Bobby Wesley Zachary, 49 of Calico Rock was arrested February 4 on the charge of driving while intoxicated and remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $820 bond. Zachary has a court date of March2 and was arrested by Deputy Geoffrey Watts.
Bobby Ray Eddy, 50 of Batesville was arrested January 31 on a petition to revoke probation/ parole and was transferred to Independence County authorities February 2. Deputy D.J. Tiernan was the arresting officer.
Debra Jean Teegarden, age 54 of Brockwell was arrested January 30 for possession of a controlled substance. Teegarden remained in the Izard County Detention Facility on a no bond status until she appeared in district court February2. Lt. Charles Melton was the arresting officer.
Ericka Lynne Stephens, age 26 of Melbourne was ordered to jail January 30 for violating provisions of drug court. Stephens was released February 2. Josh Morehead was the commitment officer.
