LITTLE ROCK—Patrick C. Harris, Acting United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas, and Matthew Barden, Assistant Special Agent in Charge, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Little Rock District Office, announced today that a federal jury found Elsa Solis, 38, of Batesville, guilty of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, and misprision in a case that involved smuggling 2.5 kilos of methamphetamine and $19,000 cash inside two car seats.
United States District Judge Kristine G. Baker presided over the three-day trial, which concluded Wednesday with the jury verdict finding Solis guilty on all counts. Solis will be sentenced by Judge Baker at a later date. Continue reading “Batesville woman convicted in major meth case”
BATESVILLE, Ark. – A county-wide operation with multiple agencies involved resulted in 16 arrests this week.
The release from Independence County Sheriff’s Department said the multi-agency countywide operation was organized on Thursday, June 8. Members of the sheriff’s office, Batesville Police Department, Arkansas 16th Judicial Drug Task Force and Arkansas Probation and Parole served multiple felony warrants in the county and city. ASH FLAT, Ark. – The Third Judicial Drug Task Force announced Thursday a major operation resulting in 18 arrests.
Third Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Henry Boyce announced in a joint operation conducted by the Third Judicial Drug Task Force, Sharp County Sheriff’s Department, Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, Newport Police Department and Arkansas State Police, 18 arrests have been made in a multi-county round-up. Ten of the arrests were made in Sharp County and the remainder of the arrests were made in Jackson county. More warrants have been issued and other arrests are expected to be made.
