JONESBORO, Ark. – Police respond to all sorts of calls and complaints in their day’s work. One of those calls Thursday would be filed in the unusual category.
Jonesboro police were dispatched to an address on West Stroud in Jonesboro in reference to a residential burglary which had already occurred the night before. When a 93-year-old resident went to sleep at 7 p.m. the previous evening, she laid her dentures on her bedroom nightstand next to the bed she was asleep in, she believed.
The following morning, she awoke with the artificial chompers nowhere to be found.
She told the officers sometime in the night, someone broke into her home and stole her bottom teeth off of her nightstand – and nothing else.
Officer Matthew McDaniel and Officer Anderson did not observe any signs of forced entry into the residence. They did, however, vigilantly search the premises for the dentures. The teeth were never located.
