JONESBORO, Ark. – A Pearl Harbor Day service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, at the monument on the Craighead County Courthouse lawn.
The Craighead County Veterans Monument Foundation will make a brief presentation memorializing the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor and present colors. The event should last no more than 30 minutes.
The surprise attack led to the United States’ entry into World War II. President Franklin D. Roosevelt proclaimed Dec. 7, 1941, as “a date that will live in infamy.”
