JONESBORO, Ark. – Jonesboro’s first freeze warning of the season goes into effect Wednesday night when lows in the region are expected to dip to the high 20s with a 30-percent chance of light rain or snow.
Thursday’s high is not expected to break the low to mid-30s, and the Thursday night low is expected to be in the teens.
Jonesboro and Craighhead County E911 Director Jeff Presley recommends some safety tips for homes and autos:
Homes: Disconnect and drain garden hoses, cover outside faucets with insulating foam, and change heating system filters. Keep plants and pets indoors.
Cars: Replace antifreeze every two years, batteries every three to four years unless you suspect the battery will not last through the season. When in doubt, have a trained technician check your car battery.
