Arrests made in Dollar Tree case

JONESBORO, Ark. – After a lengthy and complex investigation, two suspects are now in custody in connection with the September 2016 Dollar Tree robbery and kidnapping of assistant store manager Loretta “Lori” Pixler.

Jonesboro Police Department Lead investigator Detective Morshaydrick Racy reports that while working in conjunction with the 2nd Judicial District Drug Task Force, ACC Special Response Team and the U.S. Marshals, two individuals were taken into custody today. Dawaun Christopher Logan, 20, of Earle and Byron Dewayne Ford, 24, of Lepanto, were arrested on charges of kidnapping and aggravated robbery and are in the Craighead County Detention Center awaiting bond.

The investigation is still very much ongoing as authorities continue to wrap up details.

Due to the sensitive nature of many aspects of the investigation, and the utmost importance in not compromising the integrity of such a serious case, investigators were unable to release many details concerning their progress on the investigation.

“While we realize this very serious crime has been of grave public concern, we want to convey that law enforcement has worked tirelessly to bring this case to a successful conclusion,” the press release stated.
