JONESBORO, Ark. – One of Jonesboro’s best on-air services is having a big fundraising weekend and it is one you might enjoy.
KLEK 102.5 FM in Jonesboro is hosting a Community Park & Sale from 6 a.m. until around noon Saturday morning, Oct. 1. It will be at the Whistle Shop Bistro & Catering, 5435 East Nettleton Avenue in Jonesboro. Folks can come set up and sell unwanted goods for a parking space rental of just $10.
A pancake breakfast will also be held at the same time, making the perfect combination for a cool Saturday morning of shopping for bargains and treasures. The breakfast includes a choice of three pancakes or biscuit & gravy, bacon or sausage, scrambled eggs, and coffee or tea. It will also cost $10 – unless you buy tickets in advance.
Advance tickets are $7, and are available at KLEK, klekfm.org, the Whistle Shop, or by calling 870-277-1080.
KLEK is a non-commercial, non-profit, low-power radio station serving Jonesboro. The format is urban adult hits and classics but General Manager LaGanzie Kale devotes much time to community outreach and bringing in community leaders to talk to the listeners of Jonesboro.
“If you love a good ol fashioned yard sale this is the event for you,” Kale said. “You can find your friends and neighbors selling goods so you may find a bargain while enjoying a good hot breakfast at the same time help support KLEK’s service to the community.”
