JONESBORO, Ark. – It was the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks but employees of the Dollar General on North Church Street in Jonesboro will remember the day for another horrifying reason.
Shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday night, Jonesboro Police Department responded to the call of an armed robbery at Dollar General, 1616 North Church Street. Employees described to police two robbers who gave them the scare of a lifetime – two black men, wearing masks, gloves and carrying handguns.
The suspects reportedly barged into the store and pointed a gun at one of the workers while another ran and hid in the back office. A suspect forced her at gunpoint to go back to the cash register and open it.
Around this time, customers began to walk in and the suspects reportedly hid until they left, opting to leave then, too.
The suspects got away with an iPhone 5 and an unknown amount of cash from the register.
Both suspects face serious charges, including aggravated robbery, a felony. If you can help authorities find the perpetrators, contact Crimestoppers at 935-STOP.
