JONESBORO – The third annual Delta Flix Film and Media Festival, scheduled for April 5-8, 2017, encourages filmmakers, photographers, and other media specialists to submit their creative works. Special consideration will be given to proposals that specifically address this year’s theme, “Caring for Community.”
This year’s festival will also include workshops and panel discussions designed to help small non-profit organizations and local communities use media effectively to tell their story.
“The media plays a key role in telling stories about our community,” said festival coordinator Dr. Michael Bowman. “This year’s festival wants to focus on how media addresses common community interests and concerns.”
The festival once again will partner with the Delta Symposium, which will run during the same dates next spring.
“Many communities and small non-profits have great stories to tell but may not have the budget or knowledge about media,” said Bowman. “These workshops and panel discussions will provide these groups with effective and inexpensive ways for them to tell their important stories.”
The Delta Flix Film and Media Festival celebrates those who express their passion for storytelling through film, video, photography and multimedia presentations. The festival provides a venue for beginning, emerging and established media artists to exhibit their work, learn from each other and develop an appreciation for the art of film, photography and multimedia.
Deadline for submission of film, video, photography and other media content to the Delta Flix Film and Media Festival is Dec. 16, 2016. To submit entries or learn more about the festival, visitwww.AState.edu/DeltaFlix or Facebook, Twitter and Instagram at AStateFlix.
