Report: Burglar with shotgun kicks in door

JONESBORO, Ark. – Police were dispatched to a very scary call Sunday evening at the 1100-block of Turner Street in Jonesboro.

The call indicated a residential burglary was in progress. According to one of the victims, he said a man kicked in his front door and pointed a shotgun at him, telling him to “get on the ground.” But the victim ran into his bedroom and locked himself into the room, barricading the door.

The suspect was described as a black man between 17 and 22 years of age, wearing a black shirt, black pants, a red beanie and a gray bandana. He was described as “stocky,” weighing around 250 pounds and standing about six feet tall.

The victim said he did not know who may have done this but did describe a strange visitor in recent days. He said a man between 17 and 22 years of age knocked on his door and asked for “London.” When he told him no one lived there by that name, the victim reported the man turned and walked away without saying a word.

Witnesses said they saw three other men wearing hoods running northbound on Turner Street.

Police observed the front door had been kicked in, tearing off part of the door facing from being deadbolted at the time. However, the victim did not report anything as being stolen.

While the motives remain mysterious, the crime of felony aggravated residential burglary is very serious. If you can help police find the perpetrators, call Crimestoppers at 935-STOP.
