Jonesboro police officers are seeking a Jonesboro woman on a felony charge of filing a false police report.
Detective Jason Simpkins on Thursday obtained a bench warrant for Whitney Mead, 25, of Jonesboro, in connection with a call to 911 Dispatch Wednesday that indicated a female had been sexually assaulted at 1751 West Nettleton and the perpetrator had fled.
Officers were given a description of a suspect in the purported crime which subsequently led to a foot pursuit of a man, but upon investigation, detectives determined that the claimed sexual assault did not occur.
Police have not been able to locate Mead. Anyone with information regarding Mead’s whereabouts may contact JPD at 935-5553 or Jonesboro Crimestoppers at 935-STOP (935-7867.)
