Jonesboro police officers are seeking a Jonesboro woman on a felony charge of filing a false police report.
Detective Jason Simpkins on Thursday obtained a bench warrant for Whitney Mead, 25, of Jonesboro, in connection with a call to 911 Dispatch Wednesday that indicated a female had been sexually assaulted at 1751 West Nettleton and the perpetrator had fled.
Officers were given a description of a suspect in the purported crime which subsequently led to a foot pursuit of a man, but upon investigation, detectives determined that the claimed sexual assault did not occur.
