Swept Away Janitorial Pledges $22,000 to Support Student Backpack Food Programs for the 2026-2027 School Year

Jonesboro, Ark. – Swept Away Janitorial is proud to announce a $22,000 commitment to help fight childhood hunger across Northeast Arkansas through local school backpack food programs during the 2026-2027 school year.

As part of this initiative, Swept Away has pledged $12,000 to the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas to support the backpack programs serving students in the Marion, Riverside, and Pocahontas School Districts. In addition, the company is providing financial support for the backpack programs in Trumann, Harrisburg, Westside, and Brookland School Districts.

Every school district receiving support through this initiative partners with Swept Away for its commercial cleaning services. The company believes that creating safe, clean learning environments goes hand in hand with helping ensure students have access to nutritious meals outside of school.

The backpack program provides students with nutritious, easy-to-prepare food to take home over weekends and school breaks, helping ensure they have access to meals when school cafeterias are closed.

This marks the second consecutive year Swept Away has partnered with the school districts it serves to help fund their backpack food programs, reinforcing the company’s long-term commitment to the well-being of local students and families.

“Our success is measured by more than the buildings we clean. It’s measured by the impact we make in the communities we serve,” said the owners of Swept Away Janitorial: Ernesto Saucedo, Ana Saucedo, Cirilo Yanez, Karen Fernandez, and Kevin Munoz. “We believe it takes a village to raise the next generation. No child should have to worry about where their next meal is coming from. Students should be able to focus on learning, growing, and achieving their dreams because they are the future of our communities.”

As a locally owned business, Swept Away is committed to investing in the communities where its employees live, work, and serve. The company’s partnerships with local schools extend beyond maintaining clean and healthy learning environments. They are built on a shared commitment to helping students succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

“Our partnership with these school districts is about more than providing cleaning services,” said the Swept Away ownership team. “It is about showing up for our communities in meaningful ways. We are honored to continue partnering with the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas and the schools we proudly serve. By supporting these backpack programs, we hope to remove one more obstacle so students can focus on receiving the education they deserve.”

Swept Away hopes its commitment will inspire other businesses and community members to invest in programs that help ensure no child goes hungry.
