Suspect Found in Nebraska After Jonesboro Stabbing, Police Say

JONESBORO, Ark. — A 19-year-old suspect has been arrested after police said a woman was stabbed during an argument at a Jonesboro home.

Katelyn Lashuntae Nimmers, 19, of Osceola, was arrested on a charge of second-degree domestic battering, a Class B felony.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Jonesboro police were dispatched on April 26 to St. Bernards Hospital in reference to a stabbing incident. Officers made contact with the alleged victim, who said she had been at home with a small group of friends when Nimmers, who had been living at the apartment, became intoxicated and began arguing with her.

The victim told police Nimmers grabbed a knife from the kitchen and stabbed her in the left clavicle area, according to the affidavit. The victim was transported by a friend to St. Bernards.

Police said the victim had injuries near her left clavicle and a small cut on her left forearm. A bench warrant was issued for Nimmers, who was later discovered in Nebraska.

Nimmers was in custody in Nebraska on April 30, awaiting transport back to Craighead County. She arrived at the Craighead County Detention Center on May 14.

Judge David Boling set bond at $100,000 cash or surety and ordered Nimmers to wear a GPS ankle monitor. Her next court date is June 26.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
