HARRISBURG, Ark. — A suspect accused in a long-term sexual abuse investigation involving multiple victims is being held on a $1.25 million cash-only bond, according to the Harrisburg Police Department.
Francisco Luna was arrested following an extensive investigation into allegations of sexual abuse involving multiple victims over several years, Chief Micheal Turner said in a news release.
Police said officers received a report May 4 alleging ongoing sexual abuse involving a vulnerable adult family member. During the investigation, detectives conducted multiple interviews, collected affidavits and recorded statements, reviewed evidence and obtained admissions from Luna regarding inappropriate sexual contact with the victim, according to the release.
Investigators said the alleged abuse began when one victim was a child and continued into adulthood while the victim was dependent on Luna for daily care because of severe physical disabilities.
Police said additional interviews led to further allegations involving other family members, who reported inappropriate sexual contact occurring when they were children. Detectives also obtained statements describing repeated sexual abuse, grooming behaviors and incidents that allegedly occurred while victims were under Luna’s care or supervision.
Luna was taken into custody and transported to the Poinsett County Detention Center, where he remained pending court proceedings, police said.
Turner said no additional identifying information will be released due to the sensitive nature of the investigation and to protect the identities of the victims and their family members.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. Anyone with additional information related to the case is encouraged to contact the Harrisburg Police Department.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
