PARAGOULD, Ark. — A Paragould defendant was arrested after police said he sent messages and videos threatening another parole officer, including one video in which he allegedly threatened to kill a parole officer over an unlawful-count allegation.
Robert Smith, 40, of Paragould, was arrested on a charge of terroristic threatening, a Class D felony. Bond was set at $1 million, according to jail records.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Paragould officers took a report on April 10, 2026, from a parole officer in Jonesboro.
The affidavit said the parole officer explained that Smith had sent messages and videos threatening another parole officer.
Officers were also advised that there had been a veteran treatment court order on Smith, according to the affidavit. The order stated that Smith was to be taken into custody for a forensic evaluation.
The affidavit said the victim provided multiple text messages and videos of the threats. In one video, police said Smith stated, “I’m going to kill every fucking one of you unlawful cunts, I’m after fucking cops”.
Police said those materials established probable cause for Smith’s arrest.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
