JONESBORO, Ark. — A traffic stop in Jonesboro led to a felony drug arrest after officers later determined suspected pills tested positive for fentanyl.
Demario D. Greer, 36, was arrested on a charge of possession of fentanyl, a Class C felony, along with driving with a suspended license and failure to use a turn signal.
According to a probable cause affidavit, an officer with the Jonesboro Police Department conducted a traffic stop on March 11, 2026, after observing a vehicle fail to signal within 100 feet of a turn and fail to stop properly at a traffic stop.
During the stop, Greer told the officer he was coming from Waffle House, though the officer noted that statement did not appear accurate. A probation search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a backpack containing a digital scale and a baggie with multicolored crushed pills and powder.
Greer reportedly told officers the pills were “illegal” but belonged to someone else.
Initial field testing at the scene did not confirm the substance. However, on March 13, 2026, the material was analyzed using a TruNarc scanner, which indicated a positive result for a fentanyl compound.
Greer was later taken into custody.
Special Judge Ralph Wilson set bail at $20,000.
He is scheduled to appear in court on April 23.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
